The final round of the Men's T20 State Championship ended last weekend. Four teams participated. These were the teams that ranked first and second in the groups of the preliminary phase of the tournament. In the semi-final matches, the teams of IBCC met the CC Barbarians and CC Academic against CC BSKS.
In the first semi-final, the IBCC team did not encounter much resistance and won against CC Berberians by 30 runs.
The second semi-final pitted CC Academic / all players are students from MU Sofia / and CC BSKS / all players are students from MU Plovdiv / . The Plovdiv medics achieved a score of 195/6 /15 overs against 182/6 / 15 over and won the match by 13 runs.
The final game on Sunday turned into a celebration and triumph for the CC BSKS. In this title match, they surprised the favorite IBCC and won the match by 16 runs. From the winning team, Ashan Khan, Suleiman Ali and Saim Husain distinguished themselves with an exceptional contribution to the victory, with the latter also receiving the prize for the best player of the championship / MVP /. This is the second title for the team composed of students from MU Plovdiv, with which they again pleased the leadership of the University and thus thanked for the care and good attitude towards them in sports.
The teams were awarded by the President of the Bulgarian Cricket Federation Mr. Andrey Lilov, Vice President Mr. Prakash Mishra and the founder of the federation Prof. Nikolay Kolev.
The tournament was held in strict compliance with the measures for the pandemic situation in our country and for the first time it was recorded online with the Cricheroes system and the results and comments were tracked and reflected in over 110 countries around the world.
